Application of physician-nurse collaboration model in the management of Traditional Chinese Medicine nursing clinic

Abstract: Objective: To explore the application efficacy of physician-nurse collaborative model in the management of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing clinic, and provide practical references for standardized and sustainable operation of TCM nursing outpatient services. Methods: Since August 2025, the nursing clinic of a tertiary grade A TCM hospital in Qingdao has implemented a technology-integrated physician-nurse collaboration model. A collaboration team consisting of 1 medical expert and 2 specialized nurses was established, a combined TCM technology intervention protocol for dominant diseases was formulated, and the collaborative service process and quality control system were optimized. Results: As of March 2026, a total of 15,009 patient interventions were performed, with an overall symptom improvement effective rate of 90.6%. Patient satisfaction increased from 88.5% to 99.2%. Conclusion: The physician-nurse collaboration model can effectively integrate medical and nursing resources, improve the operational efficiency, service quality and patient experience of TCM nursing clinic. It is safe, feasible and effective, and can provide practical reference for the standardized operation and management of TCM nursing clinic.
