Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current situation of PICC-related thrombosis prevention in oncology nurses, with a view to improving nurses' preventive competence. Methods: A convenience sample of 1787 oncology nurses from 11 provinces was surveyed in May, 2023 using a general information questionnaire and a PICC-Related Thrombosis Prevention Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Questionnaire. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results: The standardized scores for knowledge, attitude, and practice of PICC-related thrombosis prevention in oncology nurses were 75(65, 85), 100(100, 100), and 92(80, 100), respectively. Years of working experience, familiarity with PICC-related knowledge, involvement in PICC clinical teaching, patient risk assessment for PICC-related thrombosis, use of thrombosis risk assessment tools, attendance forms at PICC-related training programs, knowledge scores, and attitude scores were significant predictors of preventive behavior (P<0.05), accounting for 21.1% of the variance. Conclusion: Oncology nurses generally hold positive attitudes toward PICC-related thrombosis prevention, but there is room for improvement in knowledge and practice. Nursing managers should attach importance to the professional training of oncology nurses in PICC-related thrombosis prevention knowledge, and promote the transmission of experience through clinical teaching, to improve the overall quality of nursing for patients with PICC catheterization.
