Evidence summary for the non-pharmacological management of overweight or obesity in women during perimenopause

Abstract: Objective: To search and summarize the relevant evidence for the non-pharmacological management of overweight or obesity in women during perimenopause in order to provide evidence-based evidence for clinical practice. Methods: Articles regarding the non-pharmacological management of overweight or obesity in women during perimenopausal period was systematically searched from databases, guideline websites and professional association websites until November 30, 2024.Researchers trained in systematic evidence-based nursing evaluated methodological quality of the included articles and collected the evidence after data extraction. Results: A total of seven articles were included, including two guidelines, two expert consensus and three systematic reviews or Meta-analysis, and 20 pieces of evidence were formed with 5 categories of assessment and planning, diet intervention, exercise intervention, other therapies and health education and follow-up. Conclusion: This study summarizes evidence for the non-pharmacological management of overweight or obesity in women during perimenopause, which provides a reference for clinical practice. It is suggested that personalized management programs should be developed according to patients' own conditions and habits when applying this evidence.
