Abstract: Objective: To understand the current status of patient journey map in management of cancer patients, so as to provide references for further improving the health management strategies for tumor patients. Methods: Using the JBI 2020 edition of the scoping review guidelines as the methodological framework, Chinese and English databases such as PubMed were systematically searched from the establishment of the database to February 28, 2025. Researchers screened the literature and extracted data to conduct a scoping review. Results: A total of 14 articles were included with 12 English papers and two Chinese papers. Nine were qualitative studies and 5 were mixed-method studies. The contexts of patient journey map for cancer patients could be classified into six categories, such as providing information for healthcare system improvement. Three types of patient journey map were included in this study mainly with visualized flowcharts. Conclusion: Patient journey map has been widely used in health management of cancer patients out of China. Their application contexts are constantly expanding, and there are various study types and visualization methods. However, their research methods and reporting guidelines are not standardized. In the future, diversified patient journey map studies can be conducted in multiple cancer types to enhance the quality of health management.
