Abstract: Objective: To analyze the experience of patients with Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy (HDP). Methods: A total of eight databases (PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, CNKI, WanFang Data, SinoMed, VIP) were comprehensively searched for the qualitative studies from their inception to January, 2022. The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research was used to critically assess the included studies. Qualitative data were extracted, summarized, and Meta-synthesized by two researchers independently and disagreements were discussed with a third researcher. Results: A total of 13 studies were included, 51 original themes were extracted, and 4 overarching themes and 8 categories were integrated. The overarching themes were as follows: being lack of disease related knowledge and hoping to obtain appropriate disease information; double discomforts in patients' physiology and psychology; seeking emotional and medical professional support; getting rid of the trouble and taking active measures after the diagnosis. Conclusion: HDP patients generally lack disease-related knowledge, are eager to learn about the disease development, the knowledge of HDP and their own/fetal status. Nurses should pay attention to their psychological condition and provide health education, and mobilize patients' families to help them recover from the disease.
