Abstract: Objective: To establish the evaluation index system for breastfeeding nursing quality to provide basis for further improvement of pure breastfeeding rate in China. Methods: Based on the three-dimensional quality structure model including structure, process and outcome proposed by Donabedian, a American scholar, the evaluation system for breastfeeding nursing quality was built through literature retrieval, Delphi method and analytic hierarchy process. Results: The recovery rates of the two rounds of questionnaires were 93.94% and 100.00%, respectively, with the expert authority coefficient being 0.964. The Kendall harmony coefficients of the secondary and tertiary indicators of the second round were 0.147 and 0.152, respectively (P<0.01). The final evaluation index system of breastfeeding nursing quality included 3 primary indicators, 11 secondary indicators and 59 tertiary indicators. Conclusion: The evaluation index system of breastfeeding nursing quality constructed in this study has demonstrated high reliability, scientificity, comprehensiveness and practicability, which is conducive to better breastfeeding nursing quality.
