Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current status and influencing factors of nurses' hospice care self-efficacy. Methods: A total of 1052 nurses from 30 provinces and cities in China were recruited by convenience sampling method. The survey tools are a self-designed general information questionnaire and the nurses' hospice care self-efficacy scale. Results: The mean score of the total scale and each item of nurses' hospice cares self-efficacy was (70.55±10.55) and (3.92±0.59) , respectively. The dimensions scores from high to low were body care behaviors (4.02±0.63), family care behaviors (3.90±0.66), and psychological and mental care behaviors (3.85±0.65). Multiple regression analysis showed that working years, the past behavioral experience of end-of-life care and perceived importance were the main influencing factors of nurses' hospice care self-efficacy. Conclusion: The level of nurses' hospice care self-efficacy is in the moderate and high level, but the psychological and mental care ability needs to be strengthened. In order to improve nurses' hospice care quality, nursing managers should pay more attention to hospice care training and education, improve the nurses' recognition of hospice care, help to establish a correct view of life and death, strengthen the nurses' psychological care ability for patients and their families, and increase the accumulation of nurses' end-of-life care experience.
