Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effects of alternating prone ventilation based on AIDET communication mode on 72 sober patients in ICU. Methods: A total of 72 sober patients with severe pneumonia who received prone ventilation in the Step Down wards of three hospitals in Zhejiang Province from December 29, 2022 to February 1, 2023 were selected as subjects by convenience sampling method. Alternate prone ventilation scheme based on AIDET communication mode was implemented and data were collected. Results: The alternation between semi-prone position (120 degrees) and semi-prone position (90 degrees) lasted the longest (2.20±0.74) h, and 88.9% of patients' blood oxygen saturation improved after 1 hour of ventilation. Patients felt more comfortable during the process. Conclusion: The alternating prone ventilation scheme based on AIDET communication mode for conscious patients standardizes the process of prone ventilation, improves the comfort and respects the wishes of patients, prolongs the duration of prone position and reduces the occurrence of complications to improve the clinical outcome of patients.
