Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effect of solution-focused approach on self-efficacy and self-management of peritoneal dialysis patients, so as to provide new ideas for the nursing of peritoneal dialysis patients. Methods: A total of 72 peritoneal dialysis patients who were treated in a tertiary hospital in Beijing from March 2022 to June 2023 were selected as subjects by convenience sampling method, and were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 36 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group was given nursing intervention combined with solution-focused approach on the basis of routine nursing. The intervention time was 12 weeks. The differences in self-efficacy and self-management ability between the two groups after intervention were compared. Results: A total of 67 patients completed the study, 34 in the experimental group and 33 in the control group. After the intervention, the self-efficacy score of the experimental group was 9.37±0.45, which was higher than that of the control group (5.29±0.85), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The score of self-management ability in the experimental group was 172.12±2.25, which was higher than that of the control group (151.73±12.77), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The incidence of complications and unplanned readmission rate of the experimental group were lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Nursing intervention based on solution-focused approach can improve the self-efficacy of peritoneal dialysis patients, improve their self-management ability, and reduce the incidence of complications and unplanned readmission rate.
