Analysis of psychological resilience and its influencing factors in parents of children with brain tumor

Abstract: Objective: To analysis the psychological resilience and its influencing factors in parents of children with brain tumor. Methods: A convenient sampling method was used to conduct a questionnaire survey on the parents of 200 children with brain tumor admitted to the neurosurgery department of a children hospital. Results: The parents' psychological resilience score was lower than the Chinese norm (P<0.05). The depression, anxiety and stress of the parents of children with brain tumor were negatively correlated with psychological resilience. The social support was positively correlated with psychological resilience. The gender, age, residence, depression and social support score of the parents were the influencing factors affecting the psychological resilience of the parents (ΔR2=0.664). Conclusion: Nurses should pay attention to the psychological state of the parents of children with brain tumor, and comprehensively evaluate the social support of parents, to mobilize their effective social support, and improve their psychological resilience, so as to increase the survival rate of children with brain tumor.
