Abstract: Objective: To develop a pain management program for patients with oral cancer based on belief modification. Methods: The pain management program was developed by means of semi-structured interview, literature retrieval, and the Delphi technique. Results: The expert authority coefficient of the two-round consultation were 0.75 and 0.78, and the importance and feasibility of Kendall's coefficient were 0.252, 0.084 and 0.162, 0.170 (all P<0.001), respectively. The program included 6 first-level indicators, namely establishing cancer pain files, recognizing pain to avoid cognitive misunderstandings, rational use of painkillers, accepting pain, discharge guidance, summary and feedback. The program also contained 13 second-level indicators, and 18 third-level indicators. Conclusion: The content of the pain management program is reliable and scientific, and can provide reference for pain management of oral cancer patients.
