Abstract: Objective: To explore the facilitators and barriers for nurses to implement preventive care for Venous Thromboembolism in trauma patients, providing a basis for formulating clinical countermeasures. Methods: Based on the Theoretical Domains Framework, descriptive qualitative research was adopted. From April to September 2024, 25 nurses engaged in trauma care from 4 tertiary grade A hospitals in Jiangsu province were selected as the research subjects through purposive sampling for semi-structured interviews. The framework content analysis method was used to organize and analyze the interview data. Results: Facilitators include internalization of responsibilities driven by professional identity, strengthening of preventive self-efficacy through regular implementation, enhanced team collaboration, and execution motivation guided by nursing values. Barriers include insufficient promotion of evidence, lack of effectiveness monitoring, inadequate hardware resources, poor understanding and cooperation from patients and caregivers, mismatch between general plans and the needs of trauma patients, and limitations in preventive implementation due to work overload. Conclusion: The study systematically identified the facilitating and barrier factors for nurses in implementing preventive care for Venous Thromboembolism in trauma patients, providing a theoretical basis for formulating targeted strategies at multiple levels and improving the effectiveness of preventive care practice.
