Abstract: Objective: To explore the psychological experience of returning to family and society after chemotherapy in school-aged children with cancer. Methods: Objective sampling method was used to select 10 school-aged children with cancer in 3 to 12 months after chemotherapy from June 2019 to December 2020. Semi-structured interviews were conducted, and data were analyzed by 7-step Colaizzi phenomenology analysis method. Results: Three themes of psychological experience of school-aged children with cancer after chemotherapy were summarized: complicated mood of returning to the hospital for re-examination after chemotherapy, complicated psychological experience in returning school, desire for disease knowledge. Conclusion: The school-aged children with cancer experienced complicated psychological experience in the process of returning to family and society after chemotherapy, medical staff should provide personalized care to help them to study and live well.
