Abstract: The proper integration of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) plan and the early activities of ICU patients can not only reduce the injuries caused by nursing staff due to frequent handling or moving of patients, but also help patients to carry out early activities as soon as possible. Therefore, this article reviews the application progress of the SPHM program in the early mobility of ICU patients, including an overview of the SPHM program, the integration process with the ICU early mobility and the application effects, and introduces the challenges and existing problems of the SPHM program. It aims to provide reference for domestic ICUs to improve the early mobility development rate and prevent nursing staff injuries.
