Abstract: This paper summarizes the development history of genetic nursing in foreign countries, the definition and role of genetic nurses, as well as the training status of genetic nurses in the United States, Britain, Japan and developed countries, including the qualification requirements of genetic nurses, work roles and core abilities, and summarizes the enlightenment to the development of genetic specialty nursing in China. We hope to integrate the knowledge of genetics and genomics into our nursing work by referring to foreign models of genetic nursing, so as to promote the development of tumor prevention and eugenics in China.
