Abstract: Objective: The standardization and accuracy of operating drape methods are directly related to the precision of the surgical eye. This study intends to reproduce the key procedure of surgical safety verification to establish and perfect the safety management model of the operation room. Methods: Carry out root cause analysis for 32 non-standard operating drape happened from March 1 to March 31, 2019. According to the characteristics of ophthalmology, the improvement measures were made to reproduce the operation safety verification process. Results: After the improvement measures were performed for six months, the incidence of non-standard operating drape decreased from 3.32% to 0.40% with the difference being statistically significant (P<0.001). Conclusion: The reproduced procedure of surgical safety verification based on the characteristics of ophthalmic surgery could effectively reduce the incidence of non-standard operating drape and further ensure the surgical safety.
