Effects of the intervention of Promoting Resilience in Stress Management on psychosocial adaptation in children with malignant tumors

Abstract: Objective: To explore whether the intervention strategy of Promoting Resilience in Stress Management can effectively improve the level of psychosocial adaptation in children with malignant tumors. Methods: From July 2020 to December 2020, 100 children with malignant tumors were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group and control group with 50 cases in each group. The experimental group was given intervention of Promoting Resilience in Stress Management, while the control group was given the routine psychological care. The psychological resilience and psychosocial adaptation of the two groups were evaluated with the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, 21-item Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale and Conners' Questionnaire for Children's Behavioral Problems before the intervention, the fourth week of intervention and the eighth week of intervention. Results: At the eighth week of intervention, the scores of psychological resilience, negative emotion and behavior problems between the control group and the experimental group were significantly different (P<0.05). Conclusion: The intervention of Promoting Resilience in Stress Management can effectively improve the level of psychological resilience and psychosocial adaptation in children with malignant tumors.
