Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current situation and management mode of the first stage Cardiac Rehabilitation in tertiary hospitals in China, so as to provide practical basis for standardized implementation of Cardiac Rehabilitation plans. Methods: Convenience sampling method was used to investigate the contents, items, technical equipment and follow-up methods of Cardiac Rehabilitation in 76 hospitals of 10 provinces. Results: Only 39 of the 76 tertiary hospitals had carried out the first stage Cardiac Rehabilitation. Among the 39 hospitals, 36 (92.31%) had Cardiac Rehabilitation equipment and appliances, 38 (97.44%) had carried out exercise tests, while only 16 (41.03%) had set up Cardiac Rehabilitation centers or outpatient clinics, 20 (51.28%) had developed quality standards for Cardiac Rehabilitation nursing. The more frequently delivered contents of Cardiac Rehabilitation included patient assessment, hypertension management and medication guidance. The less frequently delivered contents included guidance for vocational rearrangement and sexual life. The construction of Cardiac Rehabilitation teams, standardized Cardiac Rehabilitation protocols and follow-up methods needed to be improved and expanded. There was a significant difference in the contents of Cardiac Rehabilitation between hospitals with and without the first stage Cardiac Rehabilitation nursing protocols (P<0.05). Conclusion: Cardiac Rehabilitation has been gradually carried out in tertiary hospitals in China. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of contents, personnel construction, technical equipment, and follow-up plans, etc. We should take measures to develop a Cardiac Rehabilitation diagnosis and treatment system and formulate standardized Cardiac Rehabilitation plans in line with China's national conditions.
