Abstract

Abstract: Objective: To translate the English version of Sieloff-King Assessment of Work Team?/ Group Empowerment with Organization (SKAWTGEO) into Chinese, and to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the SKAWTGEO. Methods: SKAWTGEO was administered to 563 nurses and evaluated for the reliability and validity. The Chinese version of SKAWTGEO was then revised and the final version of the scale was formed accordingly. Results: The Cronbach's α of SKAWTGEO was 0.913, the test-retest reliability was 0.929, and the Content Validity Index was 0.950. Six factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis and could explain 75.127% of the total variance. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed a good fit model. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the SKAWTGEO is reliable and valid, and can be used to measure group empowerment among nurses.
