The current status and improvement of post-exposure prophylaxis in healthcare staff

Abstract: Objective: To analyze the status quo of post-exposure prophylaxis among healthcare staff, and to explore strategies for improvement. Methods: The situation of exposed staff and occupational exposure, post-exposure treatment and related costs were investigated. Results: The incidence of occupational exposure was 1.34 times/100 beds·year, 91.84% was sharp-ended injuries. 59.18% of occupational exposure sources were known. 95.92% of occupational exposures had localized treatment. 63.27% of occupational exposures completed risk assessments in a timely manner, and 54.08% had follow-up records. Conclusion: The choice of appropriate examination and preventive measures after occupational exposure can reduce occupational infection. However, post-occupational post-exposure treatment compliance still needs to be strengthened.
