Abstract: To summarize the development of the disaster nursing in China after the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008. The changes of the disaster nursing before and after Wenchuan earthquake were analyzed respectively. The Chinese disaster nursing was underdeveloped because of the immature rescue system, the insufficiency of disaster nurses, and the inadequate attention to the disaster nursing study before 2008. But it developed well now because of the targeted efforts during the decade after Wenchuan earthquake. And constructing the rescue system according to the international standards, the systematic construction of disaster nursing discipline, the popularization of disaster knowledge and the development of disaster nursing research would be the important tasks in the future.
