Abstract: Objective: To explore the real decision-making experience of fertility preservation in young patients with early breast cancer. Methods: Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 young breast cancer patients. Data were analyzed based on Colaizzi phenomenological methodology. Results: Four main themes were found as follows: Concerns, Individualized, dynamic fertility concerns, Decision conflict, Demand for professional help in decision making. Conclusion: Young breast cancer patients face significant decision conflict in fertility preservation. It is necessary to strengthen the understanding of all medical staff on fertility preservation of cancer patients, develop appropriate reproductive decision-making resources, train fertility preservation professionals, provide timely, comprehensive and individualized fertility information support, and carry out perfect fertility management plan.
