Abstract: Objective: To develop an inpatient rehabilitation nursing model for children with hematological tumors, and to provide reference for specialized rehabilitation nursing practice. Methods: Through literature analysis, case analysis, and opinion solicitation, the CARES model (Comprehensive Screening, Accurate Assessment, Referral & Escalation, Execution & Collaboration, Surveillance & Follow-up) of inpatient rehabilitation nursing for children with hematologic tumors was developed. Rehabilitation service coverage, rehabilitation outcomes, and parental satisfaction were compared between 1238 pediatric patients of the pre-implementation period (January to June 2025) and 1193 pediatric patients of the post-implementation period (July to December 2025). Results: Following implementation of the CARES model, rehabilitation assessment rate increased significantly from 3.2% to 87.7% (P<0.01). The median parental satisfaction score increased from 4.75 to 4.94 (P<0.05). Muscle strength in children receiving rehabilitation nursing improved significantly from 3.50 (3.00, 4.80) to 4.00 (4.00, 4.00) (P<0.05). Conclusion: The CARES model enables early identification of functional impairment and continuity of rehabilitation, enhances rehabilitation efficiency and outcomes, offering a practical pathway for integrated rehabilitation nursing during the treatment phase of children with malignant tumors.
