Abstract: Objective: To review the current application of Patient Decision Aid (PDA) in the context of Advance Care Planning (ACP), and to provide a reference for the development of standardized, localized ACP decision aids. Methods: Following the guideline of scoping review, a systematic search was conducted in relevant databases for literature published from January 1, 2000, to January 31, 2026. The included literature was screened, data was extracted, and a narrative synthesis was performed. Results: A total of seventeen articles were included. The PDA types encompassed videos, websites, and booklets, etc. The development foundations included five categories, such as International Patient Decision Aid Standards (IPDAS) 4.0, evidence-based models, and the IP-SDM model. Adherence to IPDAS 4.0 varied across different PDA, with some dimensions, such as decision guidance and tool evaluation, showing poor compliance. Conclusion: PDA can effectively promote patient engagement in decision-making and improve decision quality in ACP. However, the research and development of ACP decision aids in China is still in its early stages. Future efforts should focus on promoting the development of localized PDA in ACP based on IPDAS 4.0.
