Abstract: Objective: To investigate the pain nursing management status in comprehensive pain management pilot hospitals, and to provide a reference for promoting comprehensive pain management initiatives. Methods: In April 2025, a convenience sampling method was used to select pilot hospitals for comprehensive pain management across the country. A self-designed survey questionnaire was used to collect data. Results: A total of 249 pilot hospitals from 29 provinces participated in the survey. Among them, 79.92% hospitals regularly updated their pain nursing management systems, and 30.12% hospitals set up pain related nursing clinics. The implementation rates of pain assessments for outpatient, emergency, and inpatient patients were 73.49%, 73.49% and 100.00%, respectively. Additionally, 83.94% hospitals provided in-service training on pain nursing, 61.04% hospitals conducted grassroots support programs for pain management, and 90.76% hospitals carried out pain-related public education initiatives. Conclusion: Pilot hospitals demonstrate a high coverage rate of pain nursing management systems. However, further improvements are needed in system implementation and revision, enhancement of healthcare professionals' competencies, optimization of incentive mechanisms, and strengthening the role of pilot hospitals.
