Abstract: Objective: To explore the implementation effects of a training program that was developed for newly employed nurses based on the nurse core competency framework using the 360-degree feedback evaluation system. Methods: The training program was designed based on the results of a literature review and expert consultation. We trained the 2021 newly employed nurses following this training program in a multi-phased and multi-mode way. We compared the pre- and post-training effects based on the 360-degree feedback evaluation system. Results: After the training, the 2021 newly employed nurses scored higher than the 2020 ones in five dimensions of clinical nurses' core competencies, namely legal and ethical practice, interpersonal relations, professional development, critical thinking, and scientific research. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The training program based on the nurse core competency framework is systematic and comprehensive. The multi-phased and multi-mode training method is scientific and practical. The reformation of the training program is conducive to increasing newly employed nurses' core competencies and is worthy of clinical application.
