Abstract: Exercise rehabilitation is one of the important approaches to reduce the adverse health outcomes of patients with coronary heart disease, however, their participation rate is low and adherence to exercise is poor. This article reviews the patients' participation in exercise rehabilitation and its associated factors, including patients' demographic characteristics, comorbidity, symptoms related to the disease, psychosocial behaviors, and their health care providers. The paper identifies the main influencing factors of participation in exercise rehabilitation for patients with coronary heart disease, which contributes to develop tailored interventions for these factors by health care professionals.
