Abstract: Objective: To explore the effects of narrative nursing on demoralization syndrome and quality of life in cancer patients. Methods: Ninety patients with cancer treated in our hospital's oncology department from May 2019 to October 2019 were selected as the research participants. The patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The control group was treated with routine nursing, and the observation group was treated with narrative nursing based on routine nursing. The intervention effect was evaluated by the Demoralization Scale, EORTC QLQ-C30 and nursing satisfaction questionnaire for inpatients. Results: After 2 months of intervention, the scores of the Demoralization Scale in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.01), and the quality of life in observation group was better than that in control group (P<0.01). Patient satisfaction in observation group was 95.56%, which was significantly better than 82.22% in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Applying narrative nursing to the clinical care of cancer patients can reduce the demoralization syndrome of cancer patients and improve the quality of life and satisfaction of patients.
