The investigation on the status and influence factors of returning to work among breast cancer survivors

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the status and the influencing factors of breast cancer survivors returning to work. Methods: From July 2018 to September 2019, 306 breast cancer survivors were selected from 4 hospitals using convenience sampling method. The participants were investigated using general information questionnaire, Readiness for Return-To-Work Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire to explore the status and the influencing factors of returning to work. Results: Sixty seven (21.9%) breast cancer survivors had returned to work. Age, self-efficacy, time of diagnosis, lymph node dissection and weekly working hours were influencing factors for breast cancer survivors to return to work. Conclusion: The return rate of breast cancer survivors has increased. Medical staff should pay attention to the influencing factors and develop targeted intervention programs to help patients back to work.
