Abstract: Objective: To summarize and apply the evidence to prevent wet packs from autoclave sterilizers so as to improve the awareness of the staff in Central Sterile Supply Department on evidence-based knowledge, increase the implementation rate of evidence application, and reduce the incidence of wet packs. Methods: Based on the "clinical application of evidence" model of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) evidence-based health care center, we obtained best practice evidence and formulated corresponding review indicators. We collected data using on-site observation, interview, measurement, and access to relevant records. Results: After the application of the best evidence, the implementation rate of seven review indicators reached 100%. The incidence rate of wet packs decreased from 0.85% to 0.12%. The pass rate of the staff in the Central Sterile Supply Department on the knowledge of wet pack management increased from 30.8% to 92.3%. The frequency of touches during cooling period decreased from 4.57 to 1 on average. Conclusion: The application of the best evidence of wet pack management can standardize the practice of the Central Sterile Supply Department staff and reduce the incidence of wet packs.
