Review of the status and interventions for low back pain among nurses

Abstract: Nurses are at high-risk for developing low back pain. The occurrence of low back pain not only threatens the physical and mental health of nurses, increases nurses' turnover rate, but also challenges the quality, safety of nursing care activities, as well as the retention and stable professional growth of the nursing workforce. This paper reviewed the status and treatment interventions for low back pain in nurses and analyzed the problems existed in managing low back pain in nurses. The result of the review provides a theoretical basis for securing nurses' occupational safety, and ensures better care delivered in clinical nursing practice, therefore, further promotes quality of care.
