Abstract: This paper summarized the management of the physical examination for getting back to work in a physical examination center of a large general hospital in Wuhan during the late period of COVID-19 epidemic. We took the following measures: 1) establishing a team to be responsible for the environment, materials and personnel preparation and to develop the workflow and work responsibilities; 2) doing physical examination by appointment, disinfecting the working area, improving the accurate rate of nucleic acid positive test, and preventing nosocomial infection; and 3) allocating nurses for post-examination management, for caring of these people who had positive testing results, and for psychological consultation to alleviate the pressure put on individuals as well as their affiliations. Form March 25 to May 6 in 2020, the center totally completed 11267 physical examinations. Among these physical examinations, eight were positive for nucleic acid and the positive detection rate was 0.7‰, and sixty-three patients were IgM antibody positive or IgM and IgG double positive, and the positive detection rate was 5.6‰. The number of infected health professionals who participated in the physical examinations was 0. Only by making full preparation before the physical examination can guarantee that the samplecollection was carried out in order. It is also important to give feedback, deal with problems in time, and check and fill management gaps.
