A qualitative research on the experience of post-traumatic growth among nurses with COVID-19

Abstract: Objective: To explore the experience of post-traumatic growth of nurses with COVID-19. Methods: A total of 14 cases of nurses with COVID-19 were interviewed in depth using phenomenological research methods in qualitative research. The results were analyzed with Colaizzi's phenomenon data 7-step analysis method, and the themes were analyzed and refined. Results: The post traumatic growth of the nurses can be summarized into 3 categories: the emotional experience after COVID-19 infection, the post-traumatic growth promoting factors, and the post-traumatic growth experience. Conclusion: Nurses infected with COVID-19 have obvious post-traumatic growth. Effective response and social support play a very important role to promote post-traumatic growth. It is suggested that medical managers should pay attention to the training of nurses' coping ability, and providing more social support when they experience traumatic events.
