Abstract: Objective: To explore the status and explore the influencing factors of Developmental Supportive Care (DSC) behavior among NICU nurses. Methods: Totally 358 NICU nurses were recruited into this study from 13 tertiary hospitals at Guangdong province. Self-designed general questionnaire, Chinese version of Developmental Supportive Care Behavior self review checklists, and Developmental Supportive Care Reognition and Attitude questionnaire were applied to collect information. Results: The average score of DSC behavior among NICU nurses was 36~91 (72.18±14.78). Observing the suggestive behavior of premature infants and providing family-centered care had the lowest score. The multivariate regression analysis results showed that DSC recognition, DSC attitude, Marital status, whether or not to be the neonatal specialized nurse and Nurse-bed ratio in NICU were the important influencing factors of implementing the DSC among NICU nurses. Conclusion: The overall situation of DSC behavior among NICU nurses is not optimistic. Nursing managers should strengthen the attention on the behaviors among NICU nurses, explore training models suitable for clinical practice and provide timely intervention and training support to enhance the clinical implementation of the developmental supportive care in NICU.
