Abstract: Standard anticoagulation treatment of pulmonary embolism, which is closely related with the outcomes of patients, is a complex, systematic and meticulous work. The establishment of a nurse-led anticoagulant clinic can provide criteria of anticoagulant treatment for patients. Ever since the set up of the anticoagulant clinic led by specialist nurses in March 2016, pretty good results have been achieved including improved patients' compliance, better international normalized ratio level and reduced rate of bleeding events. This article introduces the establishment and implementation of the nurse-led anticoagulant clinic to share our experience of standard anticoagulant treatment for patients with pulmonary embolism.
