Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of stroke emergency nurses on the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods: A total of 107 patients with acute ischemic stroke receiving green channel treated in emergency from July 1, 2017 to July 26, 2018 were selected as the control group. Another 87 patients with acute ischemic stroke receiving green channel treated in emergency from July 27, 2018 to January 31, 2019 were selected as the experimental group. The control group received the conventional green channel process of acute ischemic stroke, while the experimental group used the stroke emergency mode in which the stroke emergency nurse participated. We compared the difference of rescue efficiency and key quality indicators between the two groups. Results: The median of Door-to-Needle-Time (DNT) in the experimental group was shortened from 52 min to 35.5 min (Z=-4.819, P<0.001); The median of Door-to-Puncture-Time (DPT) reduced from 87 min to 68.5 min (Z=-4.406, P<0.001); The median of Imaging-to-Needle-Time (INT) reduced from 33 min to 14 min (Z=-6.922, P<0.001); The median of Imaging-to-Puncture-Time (IPT) reduced from 73 min to 55 min (Z=-4.586, P<0.001); The DNT compliance rate of the experimental group and the control group was 95.2% and 84.7% (χ2=8.993, P=0.003), respectively; The DPT compliance rate was 95.8% and 65.7% (χ2=7.518, P=0.006), respectively. The proportion of Modified Rankin Scale (MRS) scores ≤2 at the time of discharge and 3 months after onset in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Stroke emergency nurses can significantly improve stroke treatment efficiency and key quality indicators.
