Abstract: Objective: To consolidate the infant anti-theft system in hospital and ensure the safety of infants. Methods: Benchmarked by the Guidelines on prevention of and response to infant abductions of the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which compares the weaknesses in the infant anti-theft system of the hospital, and adopts targeted measures to improve the safety system for infant abduction. Results: Through benchmarking, the hospital infant anti-theft security system was consolidated, the implementation rate of infant anti-theft measures increased from 88.89% before improvement to 99.35% after improvement, and the risk value of infant anti-theft decreased from 37.04% before improvement to 18.52% after improvement. Conclusion: Benchmarking is a method to extend the idea and draw on the best practice of other institutions or fields to the problems that the organization needs to solve. It can avoid detours in the process of quality improvement, and effectively improve quality and patient safety.
