Abstract: This study introduced the concept of Dementia Friendly Community (DFC), its underlying principles, goals, activities and outcomes. Drawing from the framework of Alzheimer's Disease International and the Alzheimer's Society of the UK, this study proposed the 4P-EASTT model to delineate the core features of DFC. Guided by this framework, case studies of DFCs in Shanghai, Nanjing, and Battle Creek in Michigan of the U.S. were presented. Recommendations for practice and policy are made regarding the promotion of DFCs for interested agencies and communities in China.
