Abstract: Objective: To develop a symptom management platform for Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) of rectal cancer and evaluate its usability. Methods: The LARS symptom management platform for patients with rectal cancer was constructed under the guidance of symptom management theory. Using purposive sampling method,10 patients and 14 medical staff were selected to test the platform and conduct interviews. The platform was optimized based on the suggestions of patients and medical staff. Totally 101 patients with sphincter preserving surgery and 113 medical staff of gastrointestinal surgery filled in the system usability questionnaire. Results: The selected patients and medical staff were highly satisfied with the usefulness, information quality, interface quality and overall satisfaction of the revised platform. Conclusion: The LARS symptom management platform for patients with rectal cancer is very practical, which can provide professional and targeted guidance for patients, thereby improving the health outcomes of patients.
