Abstract: Nurses are the direct caregivers of patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU) and the direct recipients of clinical alerts, and delayed response or missed alerts would affect the quality of care and safety of patients seriously. The frequency of clinical alarms of electrocardiogram monitor in ICU, the related responses of nurses, and the hazards, assessment tools and management improvement measures of clinical alarms were reviewed to provide references for further researches on clinical alarm of electrocardiogram monitor in ICU, and to improve the management of clinical alarm of electrocardiogram monitor in ICU in China.
