Abstract: Objective: To identify the multidimensional needs for health management of patients implanted with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) based on journey maps, and to inform a care management pathway for this group. Methods: Using descriptive qualitative research methods, 13 LVAD patients undergoing postoperative follow-up in a tertiary grade A specialized hospital in Beijing were selected for semi-structured interviews from November 2023 to August 2024, and data were analyzed and patient journey maps were drawn using content analysis. Results: The patient journey maps were formed by categorizing the LVAD patients' diagnosis and treatment process into professional, psychological, and social themes according to the timeline of the diagnosis and treatment stage and the task line of diagnosis and treatment activities, difficulties faced, patients' needs, emotions and stakeholders. Conclusion: The rehabilitation process of LVAD patients is long and complex, and medical staff should formulate appropriate solutions according to the health management needs of patients at each stage to help solve the problems faced by LVAD patients and meet the needs of LVAD patients at each stage.
