Abstract: With the accelerated population aging worldwide, the rising prevalence of chronic diseases and functional impairment among the elderly has become increasingly severe. Meanwhile traditional care models face core constraints such as workforce shortages and inadequate capacity for personalized support. In this context, Brain-Computer Interface technology is rapidly integrated into the field of geriatric care, demonstrating significant application potential. This paper not only reviews its fundamental concepts and application advances, but also systematically examines its current practices and potential in improving motor function, assisting cognitive intervention, supporting mental health care, and constructing intelligent home-based support systems for older adults, as well as discussing its future development pathways to provide evidence-based references for promoting the precision and intelligent upgrading of geriatric care services in China.
