Abstract: Objective: To construct an In Situ Simulation (ISS) emergency training courses for anesthesia recovery nursing, and evaluate the quality and effects of its application. Methods: Based on the“standards of best practice” for simulation teaching developed by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), the ISS emergency training courses were constructed and were applied in the training of anesthesiology nurses in a tertiary hospital in Hubei Province from September to December 2020. The Simulation Effectiveness Tool Modified (SET-M) was used to assess the quality of courses, and the nurses' comprehensive emergency ability was compared before and after the training. Results: A total of eight ISS emergency training courses for anesthesia recovery nursing were constructed. After the training, the nurses got the scores above 2 points in each item of SET-M, and with the increase of training times, the scores of SET-M were improved significantly (P<0.05). The comprehensive emergency ability of nurses was also improved after the training (P<0.05). Conclusion: The ISS emergency training courses for anesthesia recovery nursing, which were based on the "standards of best practice" for simulation teaching by INACSL, are with a relative high quality, and the application of the courses is beneficial to improve the comprehensive emergency ability of anesthesiology nurses. The course can provide reference for the training of anesthesiology nurses.
