Improving teamwork and communication, promoting patient safety: learning experience of a interprofessional simulation teaching courses

Abstract: This paper introduces the construction and implementation of an interprofessional simulation course in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Nursing, USA. It describes from the aspects of course overview, course construction, teaching objectives, methods and contents and evaluations, to interpret how the course guided under the core competencies of interprofessional collaboration practice combining with Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety, and thus to provide reference for the development of relevant courses and training in China.
