Abstract: Objective: To understand the status risk perception in ICU nurses and to explore the influence of occupational calling and situational competence on risk perception of ICU nurses. Methods: From June to October 2023, nurses in ICUs of five tertiary grade A hospitals in Xi'an were investigated by the general information questionnaire, the nurses' risk perception questionnaire, the occupational calling scale, and the nurses' situational competence scale. Results: ICU nurses' risk perception score was 87.52±14.35. The main influencing factors of ICU nurses' risk perception were occupational calling, situational competence, age, job title and working years (all P<0.001). Conclusion: The risk perception of ICU nurses was in the medium level. Managers can make use of the influence of occupational calling and situational competence on nurses' risk perception to improve nurses' competence to identify risks and effectively avoid risks, and reduce nurses' excessive concerns about risks.
