It also reflects on the high-quality training, aiming to clarify the positioning and provide suggestions to meet the needs of the Healthy China strategy.

Objective: To construct and evaluate a Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing Decision Support System (TCMNDSS) based on clinical needs, aiming to provide scientific and objective decision support tools for nursing staff in their practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect clinical needs of TCM nurses, and an expert discussion meeting was held to determine the TCMNDSS function list. TCMNDSS was developed and put into use. A total of 60 nurses from a tertiary grade A TCM hospital in Jiujiang city from October to December 2023 were recruited as the research participants and randomly divided into a control group (n=30) and an intervention group (n=30). The nurses in the control group used the traditional TCM nursing model, and the intervention group implemented the TCM nursing model assisted by TCMNDSS. The clinical decision-making ability, decision-making quality, decision-making efficiency of the two groups of nurses were compared. The experience of the nurses in the intervention group on TCMNDSS were investigated. Results: TCMNDSS included the following functions: TCM operation taboos, TCM acupoint positioning, TCM food taboos, TCM nursing plan, and TCM health education. The clinical decision-making ability, and decision-making quality of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). The decision-making efficiency of the five functions of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The intervention group scored high on the experience of using TCMNDSS. Conclusion: The construction process of TCMNDSS based on clinical needs is scientific, which can be applied in clinical practice and assist TCM nurses in making decisions, and nurses have a good experience with TCMNDSS.

Prediction of home-based Traditional Chinese Medicine nursing technology demand of elderly patients with chronic diseases

Objective: To investigate the current situation of home-based Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) nursing technology needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases and to predict their needs, so as to provide reference for clinical decision-making. Methods: From February to June 2024, a cross-sectional survey was conducted on 1026 elderly patients with chronic diseases in outpatient and inpatient departments of 9 TCM hospitals in Zhejiang province by using the self-made questionnaire on the needs of home TCM nursing technology for elderly patients with chronic diseases. The extreme gradient lifting algorithm is used to predict the demand, and the importance of the variables in the model is explained by the Shapley Additive Explanations. Results: The demand rate of home-based TCM nursing technology for elderly patients with chronic diseases was 70.27%, of which scraping (52.63%), moxibustion (51.85%), cupping (48.73%), ear point sticking (47.37%) ranked in the forefront. Overall importance ranking, TCM nursing technology cognition and attitude, specific symptoms of discomfort, per capita monthly family income, education level and other characteristics were identified as significant predictors. The AUC value of the model in the training set is 0.95-0.99, and the AUC value in the test set is 0.80-0.89, and the performance of the model is good. Conclusion: The demand for home traditional TCM nursing technology in elderly patients with chronic diseases is extensive and affected by many factors. In the future, the promotion and publicity of TCM nursing technology should be strengthened to improve public awareness. At the same time, we will increase personnel training, provide corresponding TCM nursing technical support for common discomfort symptoms of patients, and meet the personalized needs of elderly patients with chronic diseases.

Clinical efficacy of the tooth-tapping and saliva-swallowing method on early enteral nutrition implementation after laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of the tooth-tapping and saliva-swallowing method on early enteral nutrition implementation after laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery. Methods: A total of 140 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer were recruited. They were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 70 cases in each group. The control group received standardized perioperative care and stepwise nutritional support therapy for gastric cancer patients, while the experimental group received the same care with the addition of the tooth-tapping and saliva-swallowing method. Postoperative evaluations included the time to first postoperative flatus and defecation, interruption rate of postoperative enteral nutrition, the compliance rate of enteral nutrition on postoperative day 2 and day 7, the compliance rate of oral energy intake and the serum pre-albumin level on postoperative day 7. Results: After the intervention, the differences between the two groups in terms of the time to first postoperative flatus and defecation, the interruption rate of postoperative enteral nutrition, the compliance rate of enteral nutrition on postoperative day 7, the compliance rate of oral energy intake and the serum pre-albumin level on postoperative day 7 were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The tooth-tapping and saliva-swallowing method combined with stepwise enteral nutritional support can improve early gastrointestinal dysfunction in patients after gastric cancer surgery, may promote effective early enteral nutrition implementation, and assist patients in transitioning more effectively to oral nutritional supplementation.

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of the electro-heating bian-stone warming and ironing technique in elderly patients with functional constipation due to spleen-kidney yang deficiency. Methods: From July 2023 to February 2024, 58 patients with functional constipation due to spleen-kidney yang deficiency who were admitted to a tertiary grade A Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital in Beijing were recruited as the study participants. They were randomized into either an experimental group (n=29) or a control group (n=29). Patients in the control group received abdominal massages on the basis of health guidance. On the other hand, patients in the experimental group received electro-heating bian-stone warming and ironing therapy on the basis of health guidance. The improvement in patients' constipation was evaluated using the Patient Assessment of Constipation Symptom (PAC-SYM), Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS), Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life (PAC-QOL), and records of weekly defecation frequency before and after the intervention. Results: The PAC-SYM, BSFS, and PAC-QOL scores for both the experimental and control groups were compared before and after the intervention, showing statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After the intervention, there were notable differences in PAC-SYM, BSFS, PAC-QOL, the weekly defecation frequency significantly between the experimental and control groups (P<0.01). Conclusion: The electro-heating bian-stone warming and ironing technique can significantly improve functional constipation symptoms in elderly patients with functional constipation due to spleen-kidney yang deficiency, increase defecation frequency, and enhance the patient's quality of life.

Self-management trajectories and influencing factors of older patients with Chronic Heart Failure

Objective: To identify the self-management trajectories of older patients with Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) and to analyze the predictive factors of different trajectories. Methods: A convenience sampling was used to recruit 213 older patients with CHF who were hospitalized in a cardiology ward of a tertiary grade A hospital in Yinchuan from December 2021 to June 2022. The first questionnaire survey was conducted during hospitalization, and follow-up surveys were conducted 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months after discharge. A latent class growth model was used to identify different categories of patients' self-management behavior change. Multiple Logistic regression was used to analyze the predictors of trajectory categories. Results: Totally 173 patients completed the all follow-up surveys. Three self-management trajectories of older patients with CHF were identified, namely "low level-declining" (29.5%), "moderate level-maintaining" (39.9%), and "high level-increasing" (30.6%). The results of multiple Logistic regression analysis showed that social support, self-efficacy, personal monthly income, place of residence, and gender were factors influencing the trajectory of self-management in older patients with CHF (P<0.05). Conclusion: Older patients with CHF shows different trajectories of self-management. Targeted measures should be developed based on the characteristics of patients' self-management trajectories to help patients maintain good self-management behaviors.

Objective: To explore the experience of home dwelling empty-nested older patients adjusting to Multiple Chronic Conditions (MCCs), and improve the coping ability of MCCs. Methods: A descriptive qualitative approach was conducted and a total of 15 home dwelling empty-nested older patients with MCCs were enrolled for semi-structural in-depth interviews. Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis method was used to analyze the data. Results: Based on the PERMA (Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationship, Meaning, Achievement), five themes were extracted: showing positive emotions and having positive psychological capital; engaging in life and taking the initiative to adjust; receiving family and social support and maintaining good interpersonal relationships; seeking self-meaning and realizing self-worth; achieving accomplishments and reaching a positive life. Conclusion: In the management of MCCs, health professionals should pay attention to develop positive psychological capital of home dwelling empty-nested older patients, mobilize their ability of active adjustment and adopt appropriate adjustment strategies, emphasize the support of family and society, encourage the search for the meaning of ego, and finally achieve a positive life.

Objective: To evaluate the application effects of the 5A nursing model in patients undergoing ambulatory total hip and knee replacement surgery, and to provide a reference for optimizing the pre-hospital management of patients undergoing day surgery. Methods: A total of 296 patients who underwent ambulatory surgery on total hip and knee joints replacement from June to November, 2023 in a general tertiary grade A hospital of Zhejiang province were grouped into control group and observation group based on the admission time. The control group received the routine management process, and the observation group set up the 5A nursing model on the basis of the routine management process. The preoperative anxiety, cancellation rate of same-day operation, hospitalization cancellation rate, the missing items rate of preoperative examination, patients' satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results: The relief of anxiety in the observation group was better than that in control group (P<0.05). There were no significant difference in cancellation rate of same-day operation, hospitalization cancellation rate, the missing items rate of preoperative examination between the two groups (P>0.05). The average satisfaction score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Pre-hospital management by applying the 5A nursing model can reduce the preoperative anxiety and improve the satisfaction of patients with total hip and knee replacement ambulatory surgery.

Development of a perioperative health education picture book for preschool children with Obstructive Sleep Apnea based on psychological stress system model

Objective: To develop a perioperative health education picture book for preschool children with Obstructive Sleep Apnea based on psychological stress system model. Methods: Based on the psychological stress system model, literature evidence, clinical pathway, and the results of semi-structured interviews regarding the surgical cognition and coping strategies of preschool children with OSA, the first draft of the picture book was developed. Delphi expert consultation was used to revise and finalize it. Results: The effective recovery rates of the two-rounds expert consultation were 94.4% and100.0% respectively. The authority coefficient was 0.87, the judgment coefficient was 0.83, and the familiarity was 0.91. The finalized picture book contained 6 chapters and 22 topics. The coordination coefficients of topic importance and applicability were 0.609 and 0.333 respectively. Conclusion: The development process of OSA perioperative health education picture book is scientific and rigorous, and the contents are reliable. The book addresses the gap of lacking picture book in OSA management among preschool children and can be widely used in different regions.

Objective: To assess the current situation and influencing factors of self-management activation among patients with Breast Cancer-Related Lymphedema (BCRL), so as to provide a reference for promoting the intervention of self-management activation of patients. Methods: Based on the theory of triadic reciprocal determinism, BCRL patients in 8 tertiary grade A hospitals in Jinan were selected as research objects. The general demographic questionnaire, Patient Activation Measure, Social Impact Scale, Social Support Scale, and Strategies Used by Peoole to Promote Health were used for investigation. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to analyze influencing factors. Results: The score of patient activation for BCRL patients was 58.74±13.87, which was in the middle level. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that the degree of education, stigma, social support and self-management efficacy were the influencing factors of the active degree of self-management in BCRL patients (P<0.05). Conclusion: The level of self-management activation among BCRL patients is not high. Tailored, systematic intervention strategies should be developed, considering patients' educational backgrounds, disease-related stigma, social support and self-management efficacy level.

Objective: To integrate the findings of qualitative studies on the experience of Cancer-Related Cognitive Impairment (CRCI) in breast cancer patients. Methods: PubMed, CINAHL, Embase, PsycINFO, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM were searched for qualitative researches on the experience of patients with CRCI from inception to May 31, 2024. The research findings were summarized and integrated by the convergent integration method. Results: A total of 15 studies were included. Fifty research findings were extracted and summarized into 6 new categories. Three integrated themes were synthesized: patients' perception of cognitive decline and its causes, CRCI has multiple effects on patients, patients actively adapt to cognitive decline and hope to get more supports from the outside. Conclusion: Cognitive decline is a problem in breast cancer patients and it has many effects on patients. Medical staff should pay attention to patients' complaints of cognitive decline and help them improve their cognitive function.

Objective: To retrieve, evaluate and summarize the evidence on nursing of gastrointestinal symptom cluster in children with leukemia undergoing chemotherapy at home and abroad, and provide evidence-based basis for clinical practice. Methods: According to the "6S" evidence model, literature related to the nursing of gastrointestinal symptoms in children with leukemia undergoing chemotherapy were systematically searched in domestic and foreign databases, relevant guide websites and professional society websites from the inception of database to May 9, 2024. Researchers evaluated the quality of the literature, extracted and integrated evidence. Results: A total of 14 articles were included, including 3 clinical decisions, 4 guidelines, 2 systematic reviews, 3 expert consensus, and 2 randomized controlled trials. A total of 16 pieces of evidence were summarized from 5 aspects, including organizational management, control objectives, risk factors, health education, symptom management. Conclusion: This study summarizes the evidence of nursing of gastrointestinal symptom clusters in children with leukemia undergoing chemotherapy, which can provide reference for clinical practice. Individualized treatment and nursing care should be provided according to the symptoms and actual needs of the child, and relevant evidence should be updated in time.

Development and test of reliability and validity of MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Acute Leukemia Module

Objective: To develop MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Acute Leukemia Module and assess its reliability and validity. Methods: A preliminary scale was developed through literature review, semi-structured interviews, Delphi expert consultation, and patient pre-surveys. A clinical investigation involving 235 adult patients with Acute Leukemia was conducted to assess its reliability and validity. Results: MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Acute Leukemia Module consists of 25 items, including 19 symptom items and 6 items assessing the interference of symptoms with daily life. The content validity results indicate that both the I-CVI and S-CVI are greater than 0.8. The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revised model suitability indexes were χ2/df=2.230, RMSEA=0.072, GFI=0.976, CFI=0.955, IFI=0.956, NFI=0.923, TLI=0.915. The Cronbach's α coefficient for the total MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Acute Leukemia Module is 0.941, while the Cronbach's α coefficient for the Acute Leukemia Module is 0.707. Conclusion: MD Anderson Symptom Inventory-Acute Leukemia Module developed in this study has demonstrated good reliability, and validity. It is an accurate and objective tool for assessing symptoms of Acute Leukemia patients.

Decision aids for prostate cancer screening: a scoping review

Objective: To conduct a scoping review of studies related to prostate cancer screening decision aids, and to provide reference for the development of prostate cancer screening decision aids in China. Methods: According to the research method of scope review, the relevant studies on decision aids for prostate cancer screening were systematically searched, with a time frame from the establishment of the database to August 2023, and the included literature was summarized and analyzed. Results: A total of 25 papers were included, including 15 studies on the development and validation of decision aids and 10 studies on the decision aids. The core elements of decision aids include health information support, analysis of the pros and cons, and clarification of the value of treatment options. The outcome indicators include the knowledge, belief and behavior of the decision tool screening, the decision outcome report, and the usefulness and feasibility of the decision aids, The application effects of decision aids include improving patient screening knowledge, reducing patient decision-making conflict, increasing decision-making self-efficacy, improving patient decision-making satisfaction, and high patient acceptance. Conclusion: At present, prostate cancer screening decision aids are mainly used abroad, and the application effect is good. In the future, based on the experience from abroad, it is necessary to develop decision aids for prostate cancer screening that meet China's national conditions, so as to provide decision support for patients and improve the quality of decision making.

Evidence summary of breast cancer risk management for BRCA1/2 mutation female carriers

Objective: To systematically retrieve, evaluate, and summarize the available evidence related to breast cancer risk management for BRCA1/2 mutation female carriers from both domestic and international sources, so as to inform evidence-based practice. Methods: A systematic search was conducted on relevant guidelines and expert consensuses published on websites of organizations and several databases from September 1, 2018 to September 1, 2023. Four researchers independently assessed the quality of included guidelines and expert consensuses, extracted and summarized the evidence. Results: A total of 8 guidelines and 6 expert consensuses were included, with 4 from domestic sources and 10 from international sources. According to the overall quality assessment of guidelines included, two guidelines were assessed as Grade A and 6 Grade B. All expert consensuses were enrolled after quality assessment. There were 20 pieces of best evidence including 4 aspects summarized, namely risk identification and assessment, risk monitoring, risk control and intervention, education and raising awareness. Conclusion: The best evidence for breast cancer risk management in BRCA1/2 mutation female carriers could provide references for healthcare professionals in developing management strategies and conducting clinical practices. However, the best evidence should be selected according to the clinical situations and patients' preferences.

Self-management experiences in patients with Severe Mental Illness: a Meta-synthesis

Objective: To systematically evaluate qualitative research on self-management experiences of patients with Severe Mental Illness (SMI), and to understand the obstacles and promoting factors in the process of self-management, as well as unmet needs. To provide a basis for health care workers to develop interventions to improve physical outcomes in SMI patients. Methods: Computer search of domestic and foreign databases established the database until October 30, 2023. Results: A total of 16 literature were included, 57 research results were extracted and summarized into 13 new categories, forming 4 integrated results: patients with SMI face heavy symptom burden, and self-management is difficult; explore individualized strategies and actively seek change; self-management is inseparable from external support; patients' needs are not fully met. Conclusion: Patients usually lack effective strategies in face of the symptoms. In this process, medical staff need to provide various supports, including education and training of coping skills, setting up a peer support platform, and promoting doctor-patient joint decision-making, so as to enhance their self-management ability and improve their health outcomes.

Objective: To select and summarize the evidence on dietary management in adults with kidney transplant recipients. Methods: Comprehensive searching in databases and websites for recommended practices, guidelines, clinical decisions, expert consensus, evidence summaries, and systematic reviews on dietary management in adults with kidney transplantation was conducted. Evidence was extracted and assessed for its level after quality assessment for the included papers. Results: A total of 16 articles were included. Thirty pieces of evidence were formed from nine aspects: dietary management team, nutritional assessment and risk screening, body mass management, dietary regimen development, dietary nutrient intake and dietary contraindications, dietary patterns, diet and immunosuppressant management, dietary self-management, and dietary health education. Conclusion: This study summarizes the best evidence for dietary management in adult with kidney transplantation, providing an evidence-based basis for developing nursing practice and helping healthcare professionals to develop individualized dietary management plans for adult with kidney transplantation.

Evidence summary for respite care support for informal caregivers of dementia patients at home

Objective: To retrieve, evaluate, and integrate the relevant evidence from informal caregivers for dementia patients on respite care. Methods: A comprehensive search of relevant databases and websites related to respite support for informal caregivers of people with dementia was conducted according to the "6S" evidence retrieval model. The retrieval time limit was from the database inception to March 31, 2024. Two researchers completed the quality assessment of the included articles and completed the extraction and summarization of evidence. Results: A total of 14 articles were involved, including 5 guidelines, 3 clinical decisions, 4 systematic reviews, and 2 expert consensuses. Finally, 45 pieces of evidence were summarized and presented in 8 aspects: service principles, caregiver evaluation, service objectives, intervention timing, service personnel quality, care measures, psychological intervention, and service guarantee. Conclusion: This study summarizes the evidence related to the support of respite care for informal caregivers of people with dementia. It is suggested that relevant industry practitioners should adopt the evidence in a contextualized way to improve the scientificity of respite care.

Evidence-based nursing practice of postoperative exercise rehabilitation for patients with vertebral compression fracture

Objective: To retrieve and summarize the best evidence of postoperative exercise rehabilitation for patients with vertebral compression fracture, to formulate evaluation indicators, and to implement and evaluate its clinical application effects. Methods: Based on the evidence-based continuous quality improvement model, from December 2022 to March 2023, through evidence acquisition, current situation review and evidence introduction, an evidence-based scheme for postoperative exercise rehabilitation of patients with vertebral compression fracture was constructed. By means of convenient sampling, 59 patients diagnosed with vertebral compression fracture receiving surgery in the spinal surgery department of a tertiary A hospital in Qingdao from March to August, 2023 and 20 nurses as the research objects. Indicators relating to patients including the satisfaction, quality of life and dysfunction index scores of the two groups before and after the intervention of evidence-based practice program of sports rehabilitation. Meanwhile, the implementation rate of sports rehabilitation related review indicators and the changes of nurses' knowledge of sports rehabilitation before and after the evidence-based practice were also compared and analyzed. Results: After the application of evidence, the patients' satisfaction and quality of life in the evidence-based practice group were improved (P<0.001), while the dysfunction index was decreased (P<0.001). Besides, both the implementation rate of examination indexes related to sports rehabilitation and the scores of nurses' rehabilitation knowledge increased (t=-15.873, P<0.001), and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: The clinical application of evidence-based exercise rehabilitation program for patients with vertebral compression fracture is feasible, which can not only effectively boost the promotion of nurses' professional knowledge but also the implementation of clinical management behavior. Moreover, it is of great significance to improve patients' satisfaction, life quality after operation and reduce their degree of dysfunction.

Psychological distress seriously endangers individuals' mental health and life security, which has become a crucial issue that urgently needs to be addressed in the fields of oncology nursing and psychology. Multi-modal perception technology utilizes multiple information for human-computer interaction, effectively assisting computer to identify and predict individual mental problems. This article provides an overview of the application of multi-modal perception technology in the assisted recognition, prediction and intervention of psychological distress, as well as its limitations and suggestions in the management of psychological distress, in order to provide inspiration and direction for promoting the intelligent application of the technology in nursing work.

Objective: To develop an intelligent-guide information system, and to evaluate the effects of the system applied in the outpatient service of a children's hospital. Methods: The intelligent-guide information system was used for pre-diagnosis and triage service according to children's chief complaints, and signs and symptoms. The researcher established a rule engine based on the information collected. Then the system automatically made recommendations regarding the departments or specialties for consultation to children and family. The pre-diagnosis and triage system for intelligent-guide consultation was developed, and multiple subsystems in the hospital were connected at the same time to implement functional service modules before, during and after the outpatient service. Children treated from October 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 in a tertiary grade A children's hospital in Beijing were recruited in the control group and the traditional pretest triage and treatment procedures were adopted. Children treated from July 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024 were recruited in the experimental group, and the intelligent-guide information system was used for children to receive outpatient service. The quality of services between the two groups of children were compared, and the system evaluation made by the children, their parents and the nurses in the outpatient departments. Results: The refund and complaint rates were reduced after the system application (P<0.05). The accuracy and satisfaction rates of disease screening were significantly improved (P<0.05). The system was evaluated in 5 dimensions including sense of experience, guidance, convenience, accuracy, and comprehensiveness after its application. The average score of children and parents was above 4.93, and the average score of outpatient nurses was beyond 4.13. Conclusion: The intelligent-guide information system can effectively reduce the rate of refund and complaints, improve the accuracy of disease screening and patient satisfaction, help optimize the outpatient treatment process, and improve the quality of care.

Objective: To integrate qualitative research on the experience of stroke patients participating in rehabilitation training with Virtual Reality (VR) technology, and to provide a reference basis for clinical development and improvement of rehabilitation training with VR technology. Methods: The Chinese and English databases were searched for qualitative studies on stroke patients' participation in VR rehabilitation training experience, and the search period was from the establishment of the databases to March 2024. The quality of the literature was evaluated according to the Quality Assessment Criteria for Qualitative Research of the JBI Centre for Evidence-Based Health Care in Australia, and the results were integrated using the Pooled Meta-Integration Method. Results: A total of 13 studies were included, and 43 findings were distilled, 11 new categories were generalised, and integrated into 3 integrated outcomes: higher acceptance of VR technology for rehabilitation training in stroke, perceived benefits of participation in VR technology rehabilitation training, and perceived barriers for stroke patients. Conclusion: VR technology brings a positive rehabilitation experience to most stroke patients, but still faces multiple barriers such as cognitive, physical and psychological barriers. Healthcare professionals should alleviate patients' negative emotions to increase acceptance of VR technology rehabilitation training, strengthen patients' perception of the benefits of VR rehabilitation training to enhance motivation and confidence in participation, and reduce the barriers and challenges to participation in VR technology rehabilitation training to optimize the rehabilitation training experience.

Objective: To comprehensively assess the extent of research exploring the utilization of exergames in elderly individuals with cognitive impairment, and to delve into their practical viability and the ensuing outcomes. Methods: Utilizing a scoping review approach, a systematic search was conducted in both Chinese and English databases, spanning from their inception up to August 10, 2023. The retrieved studies were then consolidated and subjected to rigorous analysis. Results: A compilation of 24 articles were included in this review. The intervention contents of exergames were divided into four types: exergames based on physical or cognitive training, physical cognitive dual-task exergames and physical combined cognitive exergames. The intervention frequency was mostly 3 times a week, and the duration was mainly 12 weeks. Exergames are highly feasible and safe, and no major adverse events have been reported. To a certain extent, exergames can improve the cognitive function, physical function, mental health and quality of life of the elderly with cognitive impairment. Conclusion: This review indicates that the employment of exergames in elderly individuals with cognitive impairment is indeed feasible and yields positive outcomes. However, future research endeavors should strive to refine the design of such interventions, aiming to further enhance the effectiveness of exergames in this population.

Nurse-physician communication status and demand matching countermeasures in Intensive Care Unit

Objective: To investigate the current status of nurse-physician communication in ICU, and to analyze demand matching strategies thereby providing a reference for improving nurse-physician communication. Methods: Mixed research methods were employed. A questionnaire survey was conducted including 435 ICU medical staffs from 15 hospitals by convenience sampling method. We interviewed 6 physicians and 11 nurses from 5 hospitals by purposive sampling approach. Results: The total score of nurse-physician communication was 73.46±11.38. Ordinal Logistic Regression Analysis showed that communication training experience, communication openness, accuracy and understanding ability were influencing factors of the satisfaction of nurse-physician communication. The interview results suggested that demand matching countermeasures of nurse-physician communication as follows: capability requirements matching strategy (strengthening skill training and cognition); opportunity demand matching strategy (building an organizational culture and creating a communication environment); internal motivation matching strategy (stimulating a sense of professional gain). Conclusion: There is still room for improvement in nurse-physician communication in ICUs in China. Managers can start from three aspects: ability, opportunity and motivation. Managers should pay more attention to training medical staff in communication and professional ability, optimizing the organizational culture and communication environment, and enhancing the sense of professional satisfaction and professional value.

Mediating effects of career resilience between work stress and career success in ICU nurses

Objective: To explore the relationships among work stress, career resilience, and career success in ICU nurses, and to examine the mediating role of career resilience in the relationship between work stress and career success in ICU nurses. Methods: A questionnaire survey was conducted from January to March 2022 in 201 ICU nurses from four tertiary grade A hospitals in Xi'an by the general information sheet, the Work Stress Scale, the Career Resilience Scale, and the Career Success Scale. The structural equation model was used to explore the mediating role of career resilience between work stress and career success. Results: The mean score was 119.84±19.17 for work stress, 70.43±18.32 for career resilience, and 89.67±21.51 for career success in ICU nurses; The work stress of ICU nurses was negatively correlated with the career resilience (r=-0.347, P<0.001) and career success (r=-0.156, P<0.001), while the career resilience was positively correlated with the career success (r= 0.356, P<0.001); Career resilience had a partial mediating effect between work stress and career success in ICU nurses, accounting for 42.86% of the total effect. Conclusion: Career resilience had a partial mediating effect between work stress and career success. Nurse managers and ICU nurses need to recognize the role of career resilience and promote nurses' career resilience, thereby reducing the negative impact of work stress and promoting the career success of nurses.

Objective: To understand the status risk perception in ICU nurses and to explore the influence of occupational calling and situational competence on risk perception of ICU nurses. Methods: From June to October 2023, nurses in ICUs of five tertiary grade A hospitals in Xi'an were investigated by the general information questionnaire, the nurses' risk perception questionnaire, the occupational calling scale, and the nurses' situational competence scale. Results: ICU nurses' risk perception score was 87.52±14.35. The main influencing factors of ICU nurses' risk perception were occupational calling, situational competence, age, job title and working years (all P<0.001). Conclusion: The risk perception of ICU nurses was in the medium level. Managers can make use of the influence of occupational calling and situational competence on nurses' risk perception to improve nurses' competence to identify risks and effectively avoid risks, and reduce nurses' excessive concerns about risks.
