Abstract: Objective: To retrieve, evaluate, and integrate the relevant evidence from informal caregivers for dementia patients on respite care. Methods: A comprehensive search of relevant databases and websites related to respite support for informal caregivers of people with dementia was conducted according to the "6S" evidence retrieval model. The retrieval time limit was from the database inception to March 31, 2024. Two researchers completed the quality assessment of the included articles and completed the extraction and summarization of evidence. Results: A total of 14 articles were involved, including 5 guidelines, 3 clinical decisions, 4 systematic reviews, and 2 expert consensuses. Finally, 45 pieces of evidence were summarized and presented in 8 aspects: service principles, caregiver evaluation, service objectives, intervention timing, service personnel quality, care measures, psychological intervention, and service guarantee. Conclusion: This study summarizes the evidence related to the support of respite care for informal caregivers of people with dementia. It is suggested that relevant industry practitioners should adopt the evidence in a contextualized way to improve the scientificity of respite care.
