Abstract: Objective: To explore the application effects of cognitive intervention in patients with Colorectal Cancer (CRC) undergoing postoperative chemotherapy based on the PERMA model. Methods: A total of 90 CRC patients who underwent chemotherapy in a tertiary grade A hospital in Nanjing from Janurary 2022 to February 2023 were selected according to the convenient sampling method. According to different time period, 48 patients from January 2022 to June 2022 were selected as the control group and accepted routine nursing and psychological intervention; 42 patients from July 2022 to February 2023 were selected as the observation group. The observation group accepted routine nursing and psychological intervention as control group, and cognitive intervention based on the PERMA model. The following questionnaires were performed for the two groups before and after the intervention: Patient Health Statement-9 (PHQ-9), Generalized Anxiety Scale-7 (GAD-7), Chinese Version of Fear of Cancer Recurrence Questionnaire (FCRI-CV) and Quality of Life Questionaire (QLQ-C30). Morisky Medication Compliance Questionnaire (MMAS-8) and patient satisfaction questionnaire were used after the intervention. Results: After the intervention, the scores of PHQ-9, GAD-7 and FCRI-CV in the observation group were significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The scores of satisfaction questionnaire, MMAS-8 and each dimension of QLQ-C30 in the observation group significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The cognitive intervention based on PERMA model can alleviate the anxiety and depression of CRC chemotherapy patients, reduce their fear of recurrence, and improve their compliance and quality of life.
