Abstract: Objective: To conduct a scoping review of the technical forms, rehabilitation contents, outcome indicators, and effects of the mobile Health (mHealth) technology for home rehabilitation in older adults with cognitive impairment. Methods: Following the JBI scoping review methodology framework, nine Chinese and English databases were searched from their inception to February 10, 2024. The included literature was summarized and analyzed. Results: A total of 31 articles were included, 24 in English and 7 in Chinese. The forms of mHealth technology mainly included video conferencing, applications, social platforms, remote rehabilitation systems, web platforms, and Virtual Reality. The contents of home rehabilitation involved cognitive training, physical activity, dietary guidance, self-management, and health guidance. Outcome indicators included rehabilitation indicators, quality of life, feasibility evaluation, and patient experience. Conclusion: The application of mHealth technology for the home rehabilitation in older adults with cognitive impairment can improve their functions in many aspects. The research design should be standardized, the mobile health technology rehabilitation program should be constructed by combining multiple elements, and the development of mobile health technology should be promoted with the support of multiple parties to enhance the effectiveness of home rehabilitation for older people with cognitive impairment.
