Status quo and influencing factors of nurses' informatics competency in five secondary hospitals in Beijing

Abstract: Objective: To investigate the status quo of nurses' informatics competency in five secondary hospitals in Beijing, and analyze its influencing factors, so as to provide reference for the improvement plan of nurses' informatics competency. Methods: A total of 232 nurses from 5 secondary hospitals in Beijing were selected from September to November 2023 by convenience sampling. General data questionnaire, Nursing Informatics Competency Scale, Transformational Leadership Questionnaire and General Self-efficacy Scale were used to collect data. Multiple linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of nursing information ability. Results: The total score of nursing informatics competency was 115.55±19.28, educational background, professional title, informatics education, transformational leadership and self-efficacy were the factors affecting the informatics competency of nurses' in the five secondary hospitals (P<0.05). Conclusion: The informatics competency of nurses in secondary hospitals in Beijing is in the medium level. Nursing managers should provide nursing information education and training according to different characteristics of nurses, and implement transformational leadership to stimulate the inherent potential of staff, so as to promote the nurses' informatics competency.
